How to Remove stains

The advantage of a mosaic floor is that it emphasizes the elegance of your home. However, dust and dirt can make your mosaic floor look unclean. We have listed some tile cleaning tips that you should follow to keep your mosaic floor clean and remove stains.

Follow these step-by-step instructions, and your floor will look as good as new.

For stubborn stains on the floor, take equal parts of baking soda and water and make a paste. Apply this paste to the stained area and let it sit for 15 minutes. Finally, wipe it off with a cloth.

Step 1: Sweep the floor to remove stains

First, sweep the floor. This will remove loose dust from your tiles. You can use a vacuum cleaner if you have one. If you use a vacuum cleaner, don’t forget to use the brush attachment. This will remove the dirt from between the tiles.

Step 2: Prepare the cleaning solution to remove stains

Have hot water ready in a bucket. Add 1 cup of washing powder to this water. Stir to mix well.

Step 3: Scrub the floor to remove stains

Dip a cup in the soap solution and pour it on the tiles. Make sure the entire surface of the tiles is covered with the solution. Use a sponge with soapy water to scrub the floor and leave it for 10 minutes, or until the floor is cleaned and the solution has been absorbed by the tiles.

Step 4: Clean the floor to remove stains

The final step is to clean the floor. Fill a bucket with clean water. Dip a rag into the water and mop the floor. Make sure you remove all of the soapy water.

Bloodstains

  • Mix 1 cup of bleach and 10 cups of hot water in a bucket at a 10:1 ratio. Pour the diluted bleach solution over the stain. You can also pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray it on the tiles.
  • Wipe off with a towel, rag or paper towel. Repeat the first step and let the solution evaporate – then the bleach smell should be gone. This completes the disinfection process.
  • Thoroughly rinse the bleach with water to remove all traces of bleach (this will prevent bleach residue or vapors from interacting with the cleaning agent you plan to use).
  • Soak a cloth in hydrogen peroxide and place it on the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes. The hydrogen peroxide should absorb the blood stain.
  • Rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly.

Rubber, tar, and wax stains

  • Place an ice cube or ice bag on the stain and leave it there until the stain substance has cooled and hardened.
  • Remove the stain as much as possible with a blunt wooden stick or a silicone stick (to avoid scratching the tiles).
  • Clean with thinner, taking care not to stain the grout lines.
  • Rinse with water and allow to dry.

Cleaning grout stains

Unfortunately, every homeowner knows that dirty grout can make the whole room look dingy, even if the tiles are shiny. Here are four ways to remove stubborn grout stains.

1. method with vinegar and hot water.

  • First, clean with hot water to remove surface dirt.
  • Then fill an empty spray bottle with a mixture of hot water and white vinegar.
  • Spray this solution on the grout joints and let it sit for five minutes.
  • Scrub the grout lines with a soft toothbrush. Use an electric toothbrush on a higher setting to achieve a more vigorous scrubbing without having to use more force.
  • Rinse with water.

2. Sandpaper method

Fold the sandpaper and rub the folded part back and forth along the stained grout lines until the stain disappears. Rinse with warm water.

3. rubbing with an eraser

Rub back and forth along the joint lines with an eraser until the stain disappears. Rinse with warm water.

4. method with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.

This method is ideal for porous tiles like marble, as there is no need to use acidic solutions like vinegar.

In an empty spray bottle, mix one-part peroxide with two parts baking soda.

Spray this solution on the stained grout and scrub with a soft brush. Always use a soft brush on porous tile or marble to avoid scratching the surface.

You can also make a paste by mixing two parts baking soda and one part water. Apply the paste to the stain, let it sit overnight, and then scrub the stain with a soft nylon brush. Then rinse the spot with warm water.

Regardless of how you clean the grout, let it dry for 24 hours once it is thoroughly clean. A silicone-based grout can be applied to protect the grout from further contamination. If the grout is in an area that is used frequently, apply this sealer at least every two years.

Proper tile care

It is important to clean tile floors regularly to prevent the accumulation of moisture and dirt. According to experts, wet flooring should be cleaned regularly: at least once a week in bathrooms and every two weeks in kitchens. In addition to regular mopping, floors should be swept or vacuumed at least once a week. Otherwise, dirt and grit can accumulate and damage the beautiful surface of the tiles.
